Climate

"For warmer waters, Martinique Beach Provincial Park is the place to go. Located on the Eastern Shore, about five kilometres south of Musquodoboit Harbour, the ocean here warms up sooner and faster than any other place in the province." -- The Globe and Mail.

Nova Scotia has a delightful climate in Spring, Summer and Fall; and a Winter that is not extreme, but can be comfortably avoided. Most Americans assume that Nova Scotia has an extreme northern climate (after all, it is northeast of Maine); when in fact its climate is tempered by the proximity of the Gulf Stream. The best months to be on the islands are, in my opinion, May, June, July and August (to escape the hot and humid Northeast or Mid-Atlantic), and September/October (for perfect fall weather).
